Friday night is the first game for the Princeton High School Varsity Football team. The game will be at Xenia High School, which is one hour north of Princeton. The game will begin at 7:30pm.
Of the Xenia Buccaneers, Coach Croley said, “[They will be] a very fast pace, hungry football team.”
The varsity team has been diligently practicing on their off season.
“We’re working hard everyday. The preparation is there, we just have to execute,” said Justin Zellars.
Team players feel that their biggest strength is the team’s offense.
“The weapons that we have on the offensive side of the ball are second to none,” said quarterback and co-team captain Tyrell Gilbert, senior.
Gilbert believes the biggest challenge the team will face will be stopping the run.
Coach Croley said the team needs to make sure “not to shoot ourselves in the foot with penalties and turnovers.”
Coach Croley expects them to stay focused and disciplined the entire season.
The team feels that they have made important improvements this year that will help them to succeed.
“I think our team’s chemistry is a lot better than last year,” said senior Bobby Minnich, center and co-team captain.
The team is confident they will win Friday night.
Donovan Gilbert, senior and varsity player said, “We gone eat Xenia, they don’t have a chance!”
