Daryl Gordon, Princeton High School (PHS) graduate, was a firefighter that died a hero on March 26th in the line of duty. Gordon was a PHS class of 1979 graduate who was a multi-sport athlete. He donned the Viking uniform to play football, track, cross country, and basketball. In the fall of 1978 Gordon was part of the first state championship football team in Princeton history.
Gordon had a great heart and was known for his bravery. Gordon joined the Cincinnati Fire Department in 1985 and was also an Air Care paramedic. He left behind a wife and two daughters.
Daryl Gordon lived brave and died brave; he lost his life while trying to save someone else’s. Gordon fell down an elevator shaft while battling a four-alarm fire in an apartment building.
There could never be a way to show how thankful the Cincinnati and Viking communities are for heroes like Daryl Gordon. He will be greatly missed.
