Boo! Halloween is right around the corner and haunted houses are open. Kids are trying on their costumes, getting their faces painted, finding candy bags and are ready to be scared! Some haunted houses are pretty far away from the Viking stomping grounds, but Odin’s Word is here to help you find some spooky options that are not too far away.

According to, “As a frequent guest at Kings Island, I couldn’t miss this year’s ‘Hollow-Fest & Halloween Haunt’. We rode every ride except drop zone, because it was not open. Halloween Haunt is supposed to be a scary event, with various haunted houses and as soon as it started the place was PACKED. Lines for the haunted things were up three hours long. Pure madness, full of “pre teens & teens” acting crazy. The crowds were insane. Another downfall of the “haunt” is after 7pm you can’t leave the park. I’d like to go back next year earlier in the year in hopes of smaller crowds so we can actually go into some haunts! We did get to watch a show called Hot Blooded, it was a musical of vampires and rock & roll, mature people only, but the dancers were amazing! Overall it was good though!”
